Corcreggan Mill Hostel, Dunfanaghy

The Mill House at Corcreggan Mill offers unique Hostel, Bed and Breakfast and Camping Accommodation in County Donegal near Dunfanaghy, Falcarragh and Tory Island and Glenveigh National Park.

See our Reviews on Hostelworld, Trip Advisor, Lonely Planet, Guide du Routard.

Corcreggan Mill provides a unique combination of old-world charm and atmosphere with spacious, comfortable rooms and facilities in a restored Mill House … all at budget prices.

Choose to suit your needs from the luxury of the spacious single, double and family en-suite accommodation on the ground floor to dormitory and double rooms on the first floor. Continental or hot cooked breakfast is offered but we also have a self-catering kitchen.

We have a very popular campsite on the Mill Cottage lawn, alongside the Mill Stream, with its own, dedicated kitchen, shower and toilet facilities.

Corcreggan Mill is renowned for its tranquillity, its warm hospitality (and we don't just mean the turf and log fires), its comfortable handmade wooden beds, our recycling policy, organic garden, and meditation sanctuaries, the sound of the Mill stream by day and the crashing of waves on Tramore beach by night. We have no TV or Radio here for entertainment. We don't need them!

Our property is set in a natural hollow alongside the N.56, beside the shore of New Lake. It is situated 3km southwest of the village of Dunfanaghy, on the coast road to Falcarragh, in the north-west of Donegal, and it overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and Tory Island. If homing in on GPS we are at 55* 10.03 North, 008* 00.22 West.

We have 7 spectacular sandy beaches, 600ft Horn Head Sea-cliffs, New Lake Nature Reserve, Ards Forest Park, and Doe Castle, all within a 5-mile radius. Within a 12-mile radius are Glenveigh Castle, Tory Island and Dunlewy Visitor Centre.

The whole area is a walker’s paradise but see our new Walk Guide (text on our website) for an account of the area’s history, scenery and facilities to understand why it was so popular with such notables WB Yeats, George Russell (AE), Capt Scott, Padraig Pearse, Robert Lloyd Praeger and Percy French.

We have produced a new, local, tourist map and a revised local information and Walk Guide. A new, 10km, Coastal Loop Walk has just been established on Horn Head
